Workplace Charging Scheme

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme that provides eligible applicants with support towards the upfront costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle chargepoints. 

The WCS is open to businesses, charities and public sector organisations that meet the applicant and site eligibility criteria. The grant covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle chargepoints (inclusive of VAT), capped at a maximum of:

-£350 per socket

-40 sockets across all sites per applicant – for instance, if you would like to install them in 40 sites, you will have 1 socket available per site

EV Chargepoint Grant For Landlords

Save up to £70,000 per year. With this grant you can save up to 75% of the cost to buy and install an electric vehicle chargepoint, limited to £350 per grant. 

Each financial year, landlords can receive up to 200 grants for residential properties and 100 grants for commercial properties. These can be across several properties and installations or for one property.

Who can claim the grant:

Building owners (including landlords and social housing providers and property factors). This includes single-unit residential properties such as flats and houses, multi-unit residential properties, such as apartment blocks and commercially-let units.

EV Infrastructure Grant For Staff And Fleet

The EV infrastructure grant for staff and fleets is for small-to-medium-sized businesses in the UK. The grant covers up to 75% of the cost of installing the infrastructure needed for chargepoints to operate and for the future chargepoints to be installed, as well as the cost of any chargepoints installed. There is a limit of £15,000 per grant. You can get up to:

-£350 per chargepoint socket installed

-£500 per parking space enabled with supporting infrastructure

Each parking space claimed must be associated with a unique chargepoint socket. The socket must be associated with an installed chargepoint or one that will be installed at a future connection location.

The installed infrastructure must support a minimum of 5 parking spaces with at least one working chargepoint.

EV Infrastructure Grant For Residential Car Parks

Save up to £900,000 per year with the EV infrastructure Grant for residential car parks. A grant that offers up to £30,000 per building or estate, limited to 30 per financial year. 

To get this grant you must install infrastructure for a minimum of 5 private off-street parking spaces, with at least one working chargepoint.

 Up to £850 grant funding is available per bay (£500 per parking bay provisioned with charging infrastructure, plus an extra £350 per parking bay with a EV chargepoint.

Who can claim this Grant?

Landlords or other entity who rents, lease or manages properties in the UK (multi-unit residential properties, such as apartment blocks).

 

 

On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme

The On-street Residential Chargepoint Scheme supports local authorities in the UK to deliver electric vehicle charging infrastructure for residents without off-street parking. 

This scheme will now provide up to a maximum of 50% capital costs, is capped at £200,000 and it will not exceed £7,500 per chargepoint. This Grant will end in March 2024 or until all funding has been allocated.

Applicants must be:

-be a relevant local authority or authorities within the UK

-have the explicit support of the relevant highway authority (or landowner) with responsibility for maintenance of the areas where the chargepoints are to be located

-agree, once funding is accepted, that the sites of the proposed chargepoints must not change without permission

-be able to complete by 1 March 2025
