Player Sponsorship – AFC Rushden & Diamonds

Go Car Charge are always looking at ways to help the local community and what better way than a local football team.

When AFC Rushden & Diamonds announced they had recently signed Pharrell Anderson to their first team for the rest of this season at just 18 years of age we took the opportunity to become his player sponsor for both home and away games.

This is what the club had to say about their new signing.

“AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing of 18-year-old attacking player Pharrell Anderson on a dual-registration basis from United Counties League Premier Division South side Cogenhoe United.

Pharrell, is a product of the AFC Rushden & Diamonds academy system. He has since moved on to the AFC Rushden & Diamonds scholarship programme at Moulton College and has combined this with playing for Cogenhoe at Step 5, scoring an impressive 12 goals in 34 appearances in his first season in men’s football.

Manager Chris Nunn said that Pharrell is a signing with next season in mind. Chris spoke to afcdiamonds.com on his new signing: “A few people whose opinion I respect, including Matty Vernon, have told me I need to have a good look at Pharrell and I’m pleased to be able to do that over the next couple of months. To have featured week-in, week-out at Step 5 at 18 years of age shows he’s got a good future ahead of him and he’s got a platform now to show us what he can do as attention starts to turn to next season. I’d like to say a big thanks to Biff at Cogenhoe for his help in getting this over the line and allowing one of his first-team regulars to test himself at a higher level at this stage of the season.”

Pharrell made his debut for the club on Thursday evening against Rushall Olympic FC and we look forward to following his progress for the end of this season and next.
